• Stephanie's dedication to nurturing talent at all ages is the hallmark of her success. Her expertise and enthusiasm inspires students of all ages to achieve their full potential, creating a lasting impact on the world of performing arts.

    In 2022, Stephanie established the Stephanie Roth Performing Arts Studio, offering comprehensive performing arts programming for all ages. Students range in age from 4 to 82. Her expertise extends to teaching private and group classes, musical theatre, plus acting and audition workshops.

    As a coach, Stephanie meets her students where they are, building them up and encouraging them to be brave enough to reveal their best performances.

    Stephanie’s Experience:

    Stephanie began singing at the age of ten and landed her first professional job at the age of 16. After graduating from Sheridan College’s Musical Theatre Program, she won a role in the Canadian premiere of The Who’s Tommy. Since then, Stephanie has performed throughout North America in a wide variety of productions ranging from classic and contemporary music theatre to fronting various pop and rock ensembles.

    With over 36 years in musical theatre, her credits include the US Broadway Tour of RENT, the original Canadian company of The Who’s Tommy, the Canadian premieres of Pelagie and The King of Thieves, four seasons at the Stratford Festival and numerous leading roles in Regional Theatres country-wide.

    Favourite roles include Donna in Mamma Mia!; Mary in Mary Poppins; Ellen in Miss Saigon; Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers; Cathy in The Last Five Years; Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music and Maureen in RENT.

    Current Activity:

    Presently, Stephanie is on the faculty at The Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, teaching Connections - acting through song. Her passion for education extends beyond the classroom, as she continues to make a significant impact on the next generation of performers.

    As a working actor, Stephanie is set to take on the role of Violet in 9-5: The Musical this summer, adding another exciting chapter to her illustrious career. Her dedication to the craft and her versatile talent has consistently earned her recognition and admiration in the performing arts community.

    Grant Awards:

    Beyond her role as a performer and educator, Stephanie is a distinguished director, producer, and creator. She has received two grants from her community, acknowledging her outstanding work. Projects such as “Brave” and “Something's Coming” have showcased Stephanie's commitment to bringing youth-based live variety revues to seniors at local healthcare centres and creating musical theatre showcases for ages 55+.

    In 2023, Stephanie partnered with The Arts Council of Ladysmith & District and was honoured with the New Horizons Grant for Seniors, a federal program supporting senior engagement through the arts. This recognition further highlights her unwavering passion for using the arts to connect with and inspire diverse audiences. The class she created with this grant is called Vintage & Valuable. These weekly classes were embraced by dozens of seniors who went on to share their work in onstage presentations for friends and family.

    Stephanie resides in Ladysmith, B.C., with her partner Kraig Waye, where she continues to inspire and guide performers to pursue their dreams.

    Kraig Waye is a musician, producer, composer, music director, and actor. He has worked in the theatre and music industries all across Canada for the past 24 years. He has appeared in over 50 theatrical productions as an actor, musician and/or music director. These shows include Once, Songs For A New World, The Buddy Holly Story, Mamma Mia, Forever Plaid, and Million Dollar Quartet, to name a few. As a session musician, he has appeared with dozens of artists, including The Human Statues, Aaron Walpole, Lynzie Kent, and his own original project, The Slights. In addition, Kraig works as a music producer, helping artists to develop their sound in recordings, and composes music for various media projects. He is currently producing an album for Vancouver-based singer/songwriter, Jeff Bryant, entitled “All In Good Time”..

  • Dance Educator: Alora is very excited to be joining the team at SRPAS! She has just graduated from the Canadian College of Performing Arts, with a diploma in musical theatre performance. Growing up on the island, Alora was heavily involved in competitive dance, winning multiple awards over the island, as well as participating in community theatre shows for many years. Alora started teaching dance at Adage Studio in Duncan, and has had a passion for it ever since. She is thrilled to continue her teaching journey, as she joins this season at SRPAS!
